Munchausen iProxy

Munchausen iProxy is a condition where a device owner creates the appearance of problems in a device, typically their own phone. This may include injuring the device (dropping it into a body of water, cracking its screen, etc.) or otherwise altering its operation. They then present the device as being non-functional in the hope of obtaining a newer and better device.

I heard that Karen "dropped her phone in the toilet" the other day, but she was raving about the latest iPhone last week; this seems like a clear case of Munchausen iProxy.

Munchausens

Munchausens is a rare, possibly ficticious, disorder that is perfect to use in a situation where one has to get in or out of a social obligation, family event, or work or school obligation. It is rare enough, that when you mention it, people raise their eyebrows in awe, not wanting to question this serious condition. Works best to say your 'friend' has Munchausens, because if someone actually does Google it, you won't want them to think you really have it. The perfect 'out.'

Chauncy: "Hey Karen, do you want to go with me to Opera in the Park tonight?"
Karen: "Oh, wow, thanks, sounds great... unfortunately my friend Jill... her Munchausens ....it's bad."
Chauncy: "Sounds awful..."
Karen: "yep... Munchausens... " Then look down, wipe a tear. Change subject.

1. The sudden urge to eat junk foods after consuming (either by smoking or ingesting) cannabis/marijuana, usually accompanied by cotton mouth. The effect isn't necessarily hunger, instead the idea of food drifts into the stoner's mind.

2. A popular brand of snack food. Eaten mostly when one has the real munchies after smoking a bowl of dro.

after smokin some green, you will inevitably get the munchies. basically it's like food suddenly drifts into your mind and it sounds like a great idea to chow down on anything handy. Whatever it is you happen to grab will inevitably taste 100 times better than it would normally, and getting full is something completely and totally nonexistent. This is caused by the effects of marijuana's psychoactive chemical component, delta-9 THC, which happens to induce a stimulatory effect on appetite, and is also well known for producing the accompanying euphoria obviously.

And then obtaining said food can become an adventure all its own

Damn, man, I've got the munchies like hardcore. Let's run over to Taco Bell and grab like 20 soft taco supremes
