The term is tied to the constantly increasing number of interracial couples including an Asian male, primarily AMWF-Couples. The primary causes for a woman to define herself as Riced are usually the taboo, large penis size, and overall sexual performance.

It comes from and internet meme of a guy who attempted to have sex with a coconut. He then posted the experience and said it was terrible. Other men tried to come up with ways to improve the experience, one guy said try it with warm rice. The guy with the coconut attempted a second time and posted the results and when asked on a scale 1 to 10 he replied a solid 2 but a 6 with rice.

Hong Kong low-cost take away meal consisting usually 2 to 3 side dishes, served with rice. The name comes from how Hongkongers order the meal by pointing at the desired dishes and say "nei1 go3 tung4 nei1 go3 (this and this)"
