high maintenance friend

A friend who requires more maintenance than their contribution to your life is worth.
Matt was always expecting Christina to make him new clothes, remind him of important dates, and schedule her life around his. He very rarely kept appointments they had to get together, and never accepted invitations that she initiated to get together. Things were always on his terms, and in his way, and eventually Christina stopped trying to maintain the friendship, because Matt was way too much of a high maintenance friend.

Cougar Maintenance

The mani/pedis, the highlights, workouts, facials, waxing, botox, etc. that keep Cougars 'in the hunt.' Otherwise, without said Cougar Maintenance, the Cougar risks looking like an Old Whore.

ho-maintenance

To initiate contact with past lovers, hook-up buddies, and one night stands after long intervals of time with no communication for the purposes of:
1) ensuring that he/she will indulge in the thought of you
2) that he/she will reminiscence about past passion,

3) he/she will try to pick up where you last dropped off, and/or
4) seeing if he/she can still be considered your ho
1) I just engaged in "ho-maintenance" by sending mass text messages to past hook-ups only during the holidays
2) I engage in ho-maintenance by calling ho's while drunk just to see what they are doing after not talking to them after a long time
3) I did ho-maintenance by sending text messages like "I was just thinking about you" after months of not contacting them
