Australianism

A mannerism or slang originating in, or widely used within Australia.

Due to the Crocodile Dundee movies, many people mistakenly believe, "Throw another shrimp on the barbie" to be an Australianism. In fact, in Australia, shrimp are known as prawns; and snags or steak are more likely to be associated with barbeques.

australian capital territory

the territory where the capital city of australia, canberra, is located. it is NOT a state, but a territory and can still have legislation trampled all over by the federal government (such as same sex marriages). it has the city of canberra in the north, and a national park in the south: that is all.

Austrasian

Austrasian: To be a person of two races. One being Autralian and the other being of Asian decent.
Also to refer to an Australian in Asia or an Asian in Australia.

G'day. Did you meet my new mate? He's from Asia and just moved here ta Sydney. So now he is Austrasian now!
