The Apes and The Monolith

An idiom used to describe the reverence given to someone or something that is venerated. The term originated from a scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey. In this scene, apes, the early ancestors of mankind, find and venerate a mysterious monolith that has appeared near their home.

Another derogetory term for Africa because of way the natives of the land look like. It's commonly accepted that many Africans do look more like apes than any other race.

Some may take it as an insult, but that's species we evolved from, someone's gonna look like apes.
