blink-nap

The phenomenon where you close your eyes for what you believe to be a couple of seconds, but when you open them again, several minutes to hours have actually passed.

Happens usually when you wake up to an alarm, and still feel really groggy.

I must've been really tired this morning. I woke up early, but I ended up taking a total blink-nap, and almost missed my class!

Post-nap grog

Sometimes in life, nighttime just didn't provide you with the correct amount of sleep you deserved.

When this occurs its perfectly acceptable to go for a nap when your energy runs out, to keep you fresh for the rest of the day.

The key with napping is to not make it too long, once you reach the fresh/grog boundary it can all go wrong, leaving you with a post-nap groggy feeling leaving you feeling a horrible mixture of hungover and mental slowness which is hard to shift.

Eddie had had a late night and an early morning start, leaving him to contemplate a quick nap at 3pm, however when he awoke at 5pm he had sleep hair, a fuzzy feeling on his tongue and a general feeling of post-nap grog.

to "nap" with a warm, comfy blanket and not to sleep but instead, tweet.

I'm tired, but I only have a couple hours til work so I'll just take a twitter nap.

meerkat nap

Fighting to stay awake during work or school and then nodding off, almost falling out of your chair or smacking your head on a desk and then waking up suddenly only to nod off again. The cycle usually repeats multiple times and is very funny to watch.

guy1: Did you take chem notes today?

guy2: Nope, I was too busy laughing at Tom.

guy1: What happened?

guy2: He was taking a meerkat nap and fell out of his chair.

guy1: That's what he gets for staying up playing Call of Duty.

guy2: And then he jumped up, sat down and fell back asleep.

flesh nap

1. Sex.

2. The sleepy-time after sex (by either party), normally a quick snooze, but could last hours.

1. "Dude, it's been like two weeks since I've been laid, I need a flesh nap."

or "Wanna take a flesh nap?"

2. "Sorry I'm so late, Aimee came over and we had a flesh nap, and didn't bother to set an alarm. Sorry, but not sorry."
