Kitchen Theory

The natural tendency during a house party for most of the party goers to congregate in the kitchen instead of the living room or some other area.

There is debate as to why this occurs- whether because of proximity to the alcohol, because it is a large open space without furniture (usually), or if there is a table then it is suitable for games like flipcup or beer pong. Whatever the reason, this occurs naturally without any conscious decision by the party goers.

Recently arrived party guest finds the living room empty only to see everyone standing around in the kitchen.

Guest: Why the hell is everyone standing around in here?
