Something you say during an awkward pause in conversation in attempt to start conversation. However this will just make the conversation more awkward and draw attention to the pause.

Person 1:"Yeah, that was by far the best Family Guy episode ever."

Person 2:"Yeah for sure."

Person1:"......."

Person2:"......."

Person1:"So....do you like hobbies?"

Person2:"Um? Yes."

Person1:"......."

Person2:"......."

Hobbitisis

Hobbitisis is a degenerative disease which causes an otherwise healthy person to shrink gradually over a period of time, usually several years. The shrinkage is usually unnoticeable due to the length of time over which it happens. Additional effects of hobbitisis include squinting resulting in a need to wear glasses; increased hair growth particularly on hands, feet, arms & legs; slower speach & difficulty understanding English & jokes. A person suffering from Hobbitisis will usually form strong bonds with small birds and isolate herself from Society with the exception of one person who usually devotes his entire life to catering to this person. Very, very rarely neither of these people has a life or any sort of circle of friends. Sad, but true unfortunately.

Fub would always call Bub up and tell him that she was feeling particularly unwell due to her Hobbitisis. He would then spend the day going to the chemist to get her cold medication, to Starbucks to get her favourite coffee and then sit outside her Hobbit-dwelling until she felt like seeing him. He then fixed her phone and TV, cleaned up after the bird and left to go home only to be summoned back through vicious, mean and spiteful Hobbit-text messages. Extreme eating can often complicate the disease resulting in Heffer-Hobbitisis. A person grows disproportionately short and fat.

Hobbit Law

Law that is introduced as a knee jerk reaction, usually to erode the rights at work of people at work.

the Employment Relations (Film Production Work) Amendment Bill introduced to the NZ parliament on October 28, 2010 is being called The Hobbit Law. It seeks to make all film industry workers contractors by default.

In college, one who stays in their room for countless hours on end without ever coming out until they grow long hair and toenails.

John had to endure countless jibes and jeers after he finally decided to stop being a room hobbit and emerged from his room with a man mane that came out from his pants, extending down his leg trunks to his jagged, witch toenails.

Hobbit

A race that exists in the books of J.R.R Tolkien, namely the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They are short human-like creatures with hairy feet and curly hair; whether they have pointed (elf-like) ears or not is under debate. The reside mostly in the Shire, and are a cheerful folk than enjoy nothing more than a good and filling meal. The most famous would probably be Frodo Baggins, the Ring Bearer.

Gandalf: I think there's more to this hobbit than meets the eye.

Hobbitstacle

A short, rotund person in no particular hurry blocking your way on a city street. May or may not have furry toes.

I had 5 minutes to make the theatre before the curtain, ahead of me was a short, slow man. I swerved to the left, he shuffled likewise, I swerved to the right and he did the same. There was no ring road around this quite considerable hobbitstacle.

A hobbit-girl is often drunk and her only topic of conversation is alcohol. She is not very critical in their choice of partner.

If a boy towing a hobbit-girl , then he is not a womanizer, even if he thinks that it would be so.

Larsson: Hi guys, I meet a chick last night, she was awesome.

The Gang: Come on, we saw her, she is a hobbit-girl.
