social security

A pyramid scheme run by the US Government. They promised to take your money to invest it for you so you'd have enough money to retire on, but from the very beginning they've just paid the people who are over 65 with the money sent in by the workers under 65. For any other organization to do this would be illegal. They don't make any real investments at all. They only 'invest' in other government agencies, which means they'll end up being paid back with yet more tax money taken by force from hard working Americans.
Joe Average says "I wanted to invest my money in a private account that I could control in order to plan for my retirement, but after paying tax for Social Security I didn't have enough left over to do that. If Social Security is so great, why do they have to force you to pay for it under threat of prison? If it was really so great, wouldn't people participate voluntarily?"

This phrase can also be used to indicate a male friend whom a girl has no romantic interest but uses him to to cock block other males at parties, dances, or other events.
Whenever my boyfriend doesn't want to go out dancing, I take Kyle to keep the other guys away. He's sort of my security blanket.

National Security

An excuse for the government to ignore the constitution. (We all want to be ‘safe’ don’t we?)
Despite the 5th amendment, the Iraqi and Afgan prisoners were denied a fair trial in the name of national security.

mall security

usually employed by a contracted "security" company, these people are given absolutely no means to control dangerous situations, but are expected to keep things under control until the police arrive. their job is to give the "perception" of security, without actually having to go through the hassle of having real training. usually known as rent a cops, they must also deal with a complete lack of respect from the patrons of the mall they serve. low pay and horrible hours make the job ideal only to lazy fat people and college students.
