Get the Osman mug.A phenomenon characterized by a subject involuntarily/subconsciously adopting a foreign accent by mere exposure to a speaker. Symptoms persist during exposure but quickly fade after exposure is terminated. Conscious over-ride is possible, but can also cause the accent to become hyperaccessible in the subject, leading to a mixture of the subject's native accent and the foreign one. Further research needs to be conducted in order to isolate a causal factor for the phenomenon.
