Mitochondria

Organelles which accomodates sufficient quantities of enzymes required for respiration and where most energy is released in respiration. Heart muscle cells contain the most mitochondria with approximately 5000 mitochondria per cell. This is because the heart muscles are always active and work continously to pump blood, cells and nutrients through your body in order to maintain proper function.

Mitochondria is the powerhouse cell as it is required for energy.
