Monotype

Monotype is like the word 'monotone' but it's used for when people are talking in IMs, Texts, etc.

Monotype is when you don't show emotions when your typing to someone. When you don't use emoticons, or people can't tell how you HONESTLY feel about something.

monodrone

A combination of the words monotone and drone on, monodrone describes a way of telling a story that threatens to put the listener to sleep or encourages her to attempt strangulation of the speaker. A story told in monodrone has no narrative arc, no punchline, no interesting tidbit details, and seemingly no end - it is simply incessant noise. Monodrone can also be used to describe the speaking style of some lecturers - no amount of caffeine is sufficient to keep the student alert and attentive.

He didn't make me laugh, didn't make me think. His incessant noise was just interminable and I started fantasizing about jumping across the table to strangle him. But I feel bad, because he is actually a really nice person.

monochromatic

Consisting of one color or hue (or race). Used by liberal elites like the NY Times to deride communities that are racially homogeneous, whether or not that was by design, coincidence, organic growth, or ethnic clensing. This is a tacit accusation of racism towards those residents. It also puts a halo on New Yorkers who ride on mixed race subways while residing in racial, economic, religious, ethnically pure enclaves fiercely guarded by co-op boards.

The housing developments of Alpharetta, Georgia are largely monocromatic.

monopoly

Where a single institution controls all of the supply for a good in a market.

However, a monopoly cannot last in the long run, unless a barrier to entry exists in the market.

Barriers to entry include:
- control of natural resources or inputs
- economies of scale
- technological superiority
- legal restrictions imposed by governments, including patents and copyrights.

A monopolist maximizes profit by producing a little less than the market equilibrium, driving up the price of the good. This creates a deadweight loss to society, (some mutually beneficial transactions are forgone), which is why a monopoly is discouraged or illegal in many parts of the world.

A local natural gas company would be an example of a monopoly caused by economies of scale.

To pull a "monopoly guy" one must be a bit old, bald, a tad chubby, and most importantly, one must have a big white mustache. This results in looking enough like the monopoly mascot man.

1) Someone, male or female, who has exactly 1 testicle.

2) Someone who has only one ball, most probably due to masturbating too much. Could be either male or female, or both.
