fedora

A hat that went from the sure sign of an early 1900's tough guy, to the sure sign of a 1980's and onward loser who is desperately seeking for a style to call their own (and ruining everything they touch in the process).

Definition inspired by epicurus's words.
You better take that fedora off before some guy with seborrheic dermatitis and a pizza goiter adds you to his LiveJournal community.

fedspeak

Also known at "Greenspeak."A way of answering questions that actually says nothing at all. The person engaging in fedspeak will use technical jargon and every method of syntax destruction they can think of. Alan Greenspan, the master of this method, would testify in front of Congress and when a Senator asked him a question he didn't want to answer he would simply use fedspeak. After about 5 minutes, he would stop and the Senator would move on, thinking that he had answered the question.
A:WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR?
B: "Modest preemptive action can obviate the need of more drastic actions at a later date and that could destabilize the economy" (Alan Greenspan)
A:Oh, thank goodness for that reassuring fedspeak, I had thought you just crashed my car into a dumpster.
