Awkward How are you? text conversation

It is the epitome of a text conversation that leads to no productive result at all. Very short and point less. It might seem like the person texting you wants to chat with you, but in reality it just leaves you with an awkward silence.

Person A: Hey, what's up? You called.
Person B: Yeah. Nothing, just wanted to see how you were doing.
Person A: I'm fine thank you! How are you?
Person B: I'm fine.

awkward "X"

Awkward "X" refers to any word or phrase created as an alternative to the "awkward turtle." This is often done to try to enhance the funny of the original idea, or to rank the new word in reference to awkward turtle, but tends to end up being a painfully obvious "third joke."

"Seriously, awkward turtle was pretty damn funny when the person first came up with it, but now people are trying to keep the funny on life support but end up third joking the shit out of it...the advent of the awkward "X"."

Awkward dog, awkward monkey, awkward military junta, awkward pork chop, etc etc etc.

the act placing your hands flat on top of each other and moving your thumps in a circular motion, this is usually done when the room has fallen silent and every one is staring at each other awkwardly

the awkward dolphin

A derivative of the "awkward turtle". It is when one assumes a squatting position and then proceeds to make sounds familiar to that of a pregnant walrus (sounds something like this: "urgh urgh urgh urgh urgh!"), whilst waving their arms by their wast. Unlike the turtle however, it is used to create socially awkward situations, rather than emphasize them.

When a person enters the room, everyone does the awkward dolphin to make the newcomer feel awkward for a few seconds. Then act like nothing had happened.

awkward salmon

Originated in the Hudson Valley, New York.

The akward salmon is another member of the awkward animal clan. It is probably one of the funniest ones out there.

During an akward silence, it works just like the awkward turtle to relieve tension.

You put one hand flat and then slap the other hand onto the flat one alternating back-front-back-front etc, to look like a fish slapping on the floor of a boat.

The sound is the best part.

So...last night I walked into my grandma and grandpa gettin' frisky.

...silence...

Awkward Hunch

In an awkward situation, this is a position one makes by putting his/her head down while the mouth is closed and the lips are crunched together firmly. This position is quick and easy and works well in any situation whether it be just a little awkward or really awkward.

Example #1 - (Ryan and Stephanie run into each other in the grocery store line)
Ryan - "Hey how have you been?"
Stephanie - "Great! you?"
Ryan - "Oh good we should hang out sometime."
Stephanie - "Yeah I know it's been a while i'll call you sometime"
Ryan - "Sounds good!"
(5 seconds of silence)
Ryan - *Awkward Hunch*

Example #2 - (Ryan has dinner with his friend James, James's parents, and James's girlfriend Stephanie)

James - "So I found out Ryan slept with Stephanie, isn't that good to know everyone?!?
Parents - *Shocked faces*
Stephanie - *Argues back*
Ryan - *Awkward Hunch*
