Wildfires don't burn forever even if it's not extinguished. Its pretentious to think that they will. Stomping your feet won't do anything to a fire that's still burning, anymore than it will do anything about injustice. The fire has to be extinguished before stomping on the embers does anything.

Every now and then you have one that lasts well over a year, but not hundreds or thousands of years. At some point, it burns out. Fuel isnt renewable, once its burned up, it's gone for good.
