This is a story in which the news anchor reads copy while video plays, and then a short soundbite plays while the anchor stops reading, and then the anchor reads the end of the story. Also spelled vo/sot or vo/b for "voiceover/bite."

When you go to conferences now, they used to be live events, however, they are almost all virtual events. People enter virtually into your virtual exhibit hall, and your virtual booth to chat or talk with you. A lot of times, they enter, and you are forced to say "hi, how are you, what can I do for you today, let me tell you about our service or product", and then they just sit there, virtually, and eventually they disappear.
