Traffic Crippling

When civil engineers and city planners talk about "traffic calming" they're really talking about "traffic crippling." Traffic crippling takes a flow of traffic. Rather than help motorists get from A-to-B as quickly as possible and leave the flow of traffic, they instead cripple the flow of traffic and frustrate motorists into
using alternative travel means (e.g. a bus). Traffic cripplers encourage air pollution by extending the period of any trip and raising the amount of pollutants created by any one motorist.
They did some traffic crippling. Now only bikes can go down this road.

Traffic Cone

A firefighter, usually a volunteer, who shows up to scenes off duty and is completely useless. This is the firefighter who is so useless they are given simple tasks such as traffic control and they end up shutting down a highway as if they were just a traffic cone.

This term can also apply to other types of situations such as when the paramedics show up to someone's house and the traffic cone shows up and awkwardly stands in the corner of the room with his firefighter t-shirt and homemade denim shorts.
That traffic cone caused a traffic jam by just standing in the middle of the road.

We were trying to carry the patient out of the house on the cot but the traffic cone was standing in the doorway.

Traffic Lighting

Having three girls on top of each other, and fucking the bottom girl, the middle girl, then the top girl, like the changing lights in a traffic light (green, yellow, red).
Guy 1: did he just come out of the same room those three girls were in?
Guy 2: yeah, he was traffic lighting them. I saw them still lying on top of each other when he left.

traffic jelly

Why would you want to call it jam?
Yo man, watch out. There's a traffic jelly ahead!

Traffic Tetris

When you come to a stoplight and make the conscious decision to avoid getting behind a dumptruck or semi and opt for the lane with 10 vehicles instead of just two so you're sure to move sooner when the light turns green.
Oh no! I got stuck behind the tow truck at the red light. I need to brush up on my "Traffic Tetris" skills.

traffic court

Court where traffic violations, especially speeding tickets, are heard. Often thought to be biased in favor of the police and against defendants. Possibly the highest volume court around.
Jim had to go to traffic court to see if he could get his speeding ticket reduced.

traffic jam

The by-product of either rush hour or a lane closing as a result of a car accident or construction. Mainstreets and highways become choked with cars that are literally bumper to bumper. Like a bad storm, usually the only way out of a traffic jam is sitting through it.

Car lines and lane shields make getting off an exit a daunting game of chicken. Road rage is also pretty common.
There was a huge traffic jam on I-93 when some idiots collided into each other, causing two lane closures. It was backed up all the way to Quincy.
