Plot Contrivance

Something that happens in the plot that is highly unlikely to happen, though still technically possible.

Different from plot hole as a plot hole is something that should be impossible to happen.
A scene featuring Q giving 007 his gadgets is a staple of James Bond films.
Now imagine if the film did not feature this and we see 007 using a never-before-seen gadget to get out of a tight situation. This would be a plot contrivance, as the audience would have zero reason to believe that 007 would have a gadget of this kind, though him having this gadget is still technically not impossible, preventing it from being a plot hole.

plot armor

Character shields (also known as plot armor or plot shield) are plot devices in films and television shows that prevent important characters from dying or being seriously injured at dramatically inconvenient moments. It often denotes a situation in which it strains credibility to believe that the character would survive.
"The art is nice, but the concept is obviously pretty stupid. Hell, just the fact that they're using the most broken character with plot armor as thick as fangirls' raging hardons for him, from Naruto, against someone who was shown to only be a mediocre bender at the beginning of the series (the form of Zuko used here) should tell you something."

plot convenience

plot convenience is a method of story-telling that forces unlikely events to take place because the story calls for it.
In the anime dragonball, Goku as a child transforms into a great ape twice within a year, the first was when they were trapped in 3 foot "special steel" thick cube prizon with tempered glass up on top, the full moon is out, and after he transforms he has his tail cut off.

plot convenience kicks in during the final round of the world martial arts tournament, Goku's tail grows back during his fight with Monster Beast Giran, and the full moon just happens to be out during the final fight. In other words plot convenience happens when coincidences must take place in order for the plot to advance.
