The alternative today is facebook chat, it is simple and convenient, and no need for screenames or buddy info - just your facebook profile is all you need. AIM was once a big hit but now is just like myspace - the empty network.

The worst IMing service, also the end of the world. Has shredded the english language to pieces. Basically porn central and the rape habitat. Worse than 4chan's /b/. Better alternatives: Google Chat, Yuuguu.

By far the worst computer program available, it should be destroyed and never spoken of again. Screwed up my computer and maimed my MSN and Internet Explorer after I installed it. AIM is so shitty compared to MSN and people who use it are hopeless, dickless, ovaryless retards.
