Billy is very careful and is driving a car. Therefore he suspects that a car filled with very noisy (and apparently drunk) teenagers would get into a wreck. So Billy turns unto a different street in order to avoid any other complications. So he is abiding to the rules of The Law Of Maximum Misery.

M.M. Maximisation

The Goffyistic idea that practising M.M. can be overdone. In Goffyistic philosophical thought this is seen as one of the main ways to ruin your life, and is therefore also a sort of 'pseudo-sin'. In practise M.M. Maximisation is achieved when you go against the social-norms of your respective society for too long in the attempt to uphold M.M. Optimisation.

To drive a rally car to its absolute limits. Traditionally used by Scandinavian car drivers whose first language isn't english to describe that they are driving as fast as they can, holding nothing back. Made popular recently by Canadian Rally Championship driver Sylvain Erickson.
