Someone who likes being outside and does a bunch of hiking, camping, that kind of stuff. Crossheirs Sportswear started using it to refer to people who are into that kind of thing. Frequently found at REI, or any "outpost". They talk a lot about adventuring and exploring the world.

Jimmy is off backpacking again this week, he's such an outsider.

used on someone who's in a bad mood and goes off the handle at friends and family over simple things....also a way of saying a woman has balls or says something with gusto; calling a woman tough and mean like a guy

note: it's quite sexist, so you might wanna consider who you use this on....make sure they have a sense of humor

A joke that is only funny to parties that are not involved in the joke, but is depressing, frustrating, or simply not funny to parties that are involved in the joke. It is essentially the opposite of an inside joke.

Insider: I can't believe I sharted in my pants during jury duty.
Outsider: HAHAHAHAHA!
Insider: *Grrr* Yeah, I guess it's kind of an outside joke.
