Noun; e-mails sent by people that are bored, and want people to reply to, so that they would be being payed attention to.

Girl: urgh, this guy keeps sending all of these pointless e-mails.
Girl2: it's just attention spam, if you ignore it it's just going to pile up.

Spam

1) A type of lunch meat.
2) An unsolicited and usually annoying email usually reserved for advertising.
3) Gaming #1: the overuse of any weapon (i.e. grenades, rocket launchers, etc.)
4) Gaming #2: in RTS (real time strategy) games, to mass produce a certain unit (usually only one or two--especially used with over powered weapons) to use in a quick, game-winning assault.

I really hate playing against John--he does nothing but sit back in his base (often called turtling) and spam out two dozen tanks that kills anything in their path.

spam attack

A spam attack is an electronic attack with the intention to harm a site/user. Making the medium unusable because it has been swarmed with useless or very offensive messages.

Characteristics of a spam attack are the following:

- Often, a new account has been created to do the spam attack
- When the account is banned immediatly a new account is created to continue the spam attack
- The user attempts to make the forum unreadable or unusable
- The user posts nearly the exact same message over and over again, all he does is copy and paste the same message and click the post button.
- These messages often contain offensive material like porn, rotten.com pictures, racial slurs, flames towards staff and alike. Sometimes it is just a lot of unreadable text or ALL caps messages.

Spam

Pointless messages, comments, or posts that are repeated over and over again. This word was most likely used thanks to the Monty Python sketch called "Spam". In the sketch an old woman asks what's on the menu, where she is told everything on the menu has spam. After the old woman yells about her dislike to spam, vikings in the cafe begin singing the 'Spam song' over and over, angering and upsetting everyone. The credits at the end all have a reference to spam.
OR
Spam, or spliced ham, is type of meat, usually canned.

Old Woman: I DON'T LIKE SPAM!
Old Man: Oh, cheer up, dear. I'll have your spam. I'm having spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam!
