Topics range from Street Life (the most prominent theme on the airwaves) to women/love, life in general and even to the strange and obscure such as Video Games (the obscure kind, not Halo and in case you're wondering, they were black rappers) and getting beat up at school ("Runnin").
Universally hated by people that never bothered to look into it's history or any songs beyond MTV.
Kinda pathetic really. I mean, 90% of the music on MTV or the radio is pathetic, why single out rap? Hey, the rock on there is just as bad. Do I judge the entire rock genre based on the bottom of the barrel? No, cause I'm not a stupid 13 year old. Most of the rock there is kids whining and cutting themselves, but I know the genre has some good to offer cause I BOTHERED TO CHECK OUT THE MUSIC BEFORE CRITICIZING IT. I listen to Pearl Jam as I write this.
Hey, every musical genre has it's garbage. I could name plenty of emo scene kids I see (on the internet, of course, we don't get many of those types of people around here) that are ruining your musical genre. Really, it's a grim future for ALL musical genres nowadays.

Get the rapmug. rap is something some people like to call music. i think it sucks. shure rap takes a little talent you do have to know how to talk fast and make rhyms but what about the music. its drum machines and computers have you ever seen a raper pick up a guitar, bass, or any thing or the sort an play music. NO! and all the songs are the same they are all about the same shit just in different words. me, i like metal, classic rock, rock almost anything but emo and punk. if you want to here some good music check out eric clapton, or van halen. but to me rap sucks always has and always will!!!!

Get the rapmug. A simplistic form of "music", involving the extremely basic drum beats (which are sampled, so really all you do is press a button). Features pathetic basslines and sampled keyboard pieces, with the occasional scratching disc. The focus of this style of "music" is actually the lyrics, apparently, because there is no actual talent involved in the rythmn section. The "music" sets out to make the "rapper" rap his words fast, which makes the words indistinguishable and they lose all meaning, most people have to actually read the lyrics to even grasp the meaning of the song at all.
