Internet Insider Syndrome

Internet Inside Syndrome (ISS for short) is an internet phenomenon where internet cultures and social groups develop inside jokes and humor that are nonsensical to outsiders. This disparity can rift groups and individuals apart that don't share the same comedy or understanding, with the observer perceiving the group or person as low-cultured or strange.

An example is a recurring joke in Stan Twitter culture about Beyoncé locking up Sia in her basement. Another is a surreal humor genre consisting of language and images violating common sense and reasoning called Gen Z Humor.

internet dust

when something in a game (or online in general) goes untouched or is forgotten about for an extended period of time, basically collecting dust as a physical item would.

an instance of this actually being thought of by game developers is in Pokémon Platinum, when your gym badges go ignored, they become dirty and dusty.

Aw fuck, I forgot I left this car in a random-ass garage in GTA. It just sat here for months and collected internet dust.
