The definition of gay is being a homosexual. Still used as an insult in modern day. People of our generation still do not understand that being gay does not mean that you are gross and stuff, it means that you love somebody of the different gender. It's just much harder for others to grasp this information.

2) a totally generic insult born out of homophobia but now generally used with no thought to it's actual meaning, by non-homophobes and occasionally gay people.
