Pulling a Forstride

Pulling a Forstride is the act of suddenly and dramatically abandoning a project after building up a community around it, and refusing to allow anyone else to pick up the torch to maintain or support it, lashing out/ignoring any offers from volunteers and fans.

Can also refer to any owner of abandonware who sits on it and keeps it forever abandoned and out-of-reach, usually for reasons of pride or overprotectiveness.

A: Super Fart Warriors IX keeps crashing. I'm trying to google a fix but can't find anything.

B: Good luck with that. The Devs are pulling a Forstride and nuked their whole GH repo last week. I heard they even sent cease and desist letters to any volunteers with access to the codebase.

A: Welp. There should still be some support somewhere.

B: Nope. The forums got nuked too.

Pulled a Kaya

While on a Zoom or Teams meeting, to begin speaking with great enthusiasm only to realize that you are on mute. Typically acknowledged by others in the zoom meeting who have to say "Kaya, you're on mute", and followed by an exasperated gesture while searching for the mute button.

*While on zoom*

"Ope, sorry, pulled a Kaya there."
