Skipping out on a tab 

when you buy a drink at the bar where they know you and you have no cash at the time, you get them to put it on your account (tab). If you leave the area or disappear without paying that account, you are skipping out on a bar tab

You're in a bar:
-hey man... can I get some drink... I'll pay you later..
-sure... here..
Then you take a few drinks and take off.... and just disappear...
and that's called "Skipping out on a tab"...

shoppingheimers

that horrible feeling at the store when you can't remember what you are supposed to buy and it isn't on your list.....or worse yet you forgot your list as well

As I wandered down the aisle of canned goods, I couldn't remember what the one specific ingredient I needed was, my shoppingheimers was taking over.

sipping the broth 

Just scratching the surface. Not fully immersing or understanding something. A shallow person.

Metaphorically, a person who only sips the broth but does not consume the more substantial part of the soup.
