A mnemonic device to remember the names of the Great Lakes.

Lake <H>uron
Lake <O>ntario
Lake <M>ichigan
Lake <E>rie
Lake <S>uperior

It does not include Lake St. Clair, which is not considered a "Great Lake" despite being part of the Great Lakes system.

I can never remember the Great Lakes without thinking of HOMES lining a lake's edge.

Homies

Homies are a group of friends (usually guys) that all try to get each other a girlfriend before their friendship breaks. Think of it as traveling. The destination is for all the homies to get a girlfriend, but on the journey they’re going to get homo.

Homie at school#1: hey I’m going to hang with the homies after school, you coming.
Homie at school#2: yeah sure, my parents won’t mind.

Homeslice

Another way of saying homie, or homeboy. This is something people may say if they want to be cool, but the end up just sounding totally cringey. Using the term homeslice is not recommended. The term came around in the early 2000s.

Friend one: "Ayo homeslice! Pull up to Jessica's party tonight!" "It'll be totally lit!"
Friend two: "For sure homeslice! We gonna get so much booty!"

The homeskilletateersman will tend to congregate - esp. over the holidays - with other like-minded homeskilletateersmen to reflect on many a merry verbal outburst
