Summer Slump

A period during summer in which a person performs inefficiently due to the excessive amount of free time on their hands.

The symptoms often include:
-remaining around the house for the majority of the day,
-sleeping in excessive amounts,
-persistent viewing of television,
-prolonged exposure to video games,
-neglecting personal hygiene,
-consuming large quantities of food (in most cases, junk food),
-loss of desire to leave their residence,
-and abstaining contact from the outside world other than Myspace/Facebook or the occasional trip to 7-11.

Causes: Lack of school or a job, absence of friends, insufficient funds, and/or lack of transportation.

Effects: Moodiness, weight gain, shortness of breath (most likely when a patient returns to school and must run the mile), insomnia, increase of nerdiness, shrinkage of intimacy, and/or depression.

Two weeks into summer vacation, Tom fell into the Summer Slump and we didn't see him for two months.
When we returned to school he mentioned that he had become a tenth prestige on "CoDWaW." We noticed that he had gained a few pounds and had broken up with his girlfriend, clearly effects of the Summer Slump.

Slumped

The feeling of overwhelming exhaustion usually associated with the use of alcohol, cannabis, etc. Usually results in someone being couch locked

Dude 1: Dude Evan looks like he’s about to get slumped, man how much has he had to drink?

Dude 2: I saw him take 4 shots and drink a beer and I think he also took a rip off Jimmy’s bong

Dude 1: Yeah we need to get him out of the damn hot tub before he slumps and drowns

The sugar-coded way of saying you're going to sleep and or sleeping for a long period of time not waking up until several hours later or till the next day.

sophomore slump

n. Disappointing follow-up to a successful first record album. The term can be applied to a follow-up to a band's first major label release, rather than exclusively to the first release in any format, and can refer either to album sales or critical reception. Sophmore slumps often occur when a band or singer experiences far greater popularity than expected, and is pressured to release new material quickly in order to stay in the public spotlight, or when expectations of follow-up releases are simply too high to be met, due to the success of the first album. A sophomore slump can also occur when a band is ridiculously overhyped and sells millions of records to scenesters and posers, but by the time the second album rolls around even the scenesters and poser have figured out that they actually suck.

Hey, you ever heard of Vampire Weekend? Those guys are a sophomore slump just waiting to happen.
