Nantucket

A beautiful island 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Mass. This island is far superior to its bastard sibiling, Martha's Vineyard which is located to the west. This superiority is not only because of its superior athletics program, but also because of the fact that there are no trailer parks on Nantucket.

In the summer Nantucket transforms from a small local population to a bustling toursit community. Sailing is a necessary passtime for one who wishes to live on Nantucket. Also included in a well-rounded Nantucketer's wardrobe are pastel polos, popped collars, rainbows, seersucker, and madras.

There are multiple events on Nantucket which make it the desired summer location, including Figawi weekend, the Opera House Cup Party and the Fourth of July. Often, locals and summer folk alike can be found drinking cheap beer on the best beaches in the world around bonfires.

While the summer on Nantucket is very fun, oftentimes it is ruined by douchebags, mainly from Fairfield County, who think they own the island...they don't. Overall, however, Nantucket is the place to be from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

nangu-pangu

Nangu-Pangu comes from the Hindi word 'Nanga' which refers to the state of wearing no clothing or being naked. Pangu was later added on to make a cutsey rhyming word for children. Nangu-pangu is used to speak about babies and children about their private parts.

There is nothing sexual about this word, it is used in an affectionate way.

The baby wasn't wearing any clothes after her bath, her mother was gently patting lotion on her and lovingly calling her a "Nangu-Pangu baby".

Mother: Please put some clothes on!
Two Year Old: Why?
Mother: Because we have people coming over, you can't be Nangu-Pangu!

nantucket

In the winter, a quiet little drinking town with a small fishing problem off the coast of Cape Cod, MA. The summer however, is quite different. The population explodes five-fold with the coming of insanly wealthy preppy tourists, who are not to be confused with the locals by anymeans. I am a local, and I can tell you, most locals are NOT rich. We are the construction workers, the landscapers, and the people who cook and clean up after the summer folk, becuase they are too "good" to do any work themselves. Of course, there are exceptions. Look hard enough and you just might find a rich local, or a cool tourist. Respect the locals and you are sure to have a good summer. See also: Figawi.

Many Nantucket locals think Connecticut sucks, or at least the towns of Greenwitch and Darien. Snobby bastards.
