In the TCG community , a Garnet refers to s an unplayable card that's in your hand. The term comes from the Yugioh! card "Gem-Knight Garnet" which was played so often with another card called "Brillant Fusion' that opening it was nothing short of a brick.

Friend: "How did your games go?"
Other friend: "Bad, I opened nothing but Garnets."

Garnet

Garnet is a character from the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe written by Cartoon Network's first female producer Rebecca Sugar. Garnet is the current leader of the Crystal Gems, a group that rebelled against Homeworld and the Diamonds. Garnet is a fusion of two gems: A ruby and a sapphire. Garnet can see into the future because of sapphire's future vision ability and is incredibly strong because of ruby. Garnet is the embodiment of ruby and sapphire's love for each other.

Oh my gosh, if one of the Crystal Gems could be my mom, I would want it to be Garnet! She is so awesome and sweet!

a suburban school full of middle/upper-middle class kids. The girls hoard brand names like a chi rat collects joints. The boys like to act like tough lax bros, but we all know they're scared of the dark, and girls (see: wangster). Known for football and a kick-ass extra curriculars.

Wiggz: Nah, gotta promote my shitty white-boy rap remix.
Emma: Not another!
Rob: Dude, you have more covers than Emma has Abercrombie tees.
