barbershopped newspaper - a newspaper that has been read and left in a disorderly state; some pages are folded back, some pages have been pulled from their section and not put back, some pages may be missing. Traditonally, this was the condition of a print newspaper after a few customers in a barbershop had read parts of it.

Lancy wanted to keep yesterday's newspaper to give to a neighbor. When she went to get it, Lanny had barbershopped it all over the sofa.
