1. To procrastinate.
2. To fall behind relative to others.
3. To unwittingly hold up progress.
4. To deliberately hold up progress by acting slowly.

James: "Dude, how long until this class is over?"

Marc: "About half an hour."

James: "WOW, seriously? We've been here for like two weeks! This class is dragging balls across the desert."
