The person/people/squad who is/are seen to have a big chance to do something, but lose it surprisingly. Often used when that phase is repeated many times, usually for 2-4 seasons (for football)

Barcelona and PSG are well known for being bottlers in the Champions League, although PSG did make an effort by pulling it through to the final in 19/20.
