Indie fashion is unique to every person. People who make there own clothes or try different things instead of buying what there friends are wearing and following the crowd. Indie clothes are trendy and make you stand out. Rarley are Indie clothes brands name, most of the time its vintage/retro/home-made.

fashion is not just a form of art, its to be inspired and create something that doesn't have to be necessarily real. it doesnt have to be a preference of the public, but more of the designer who decides. fashion is also an opinion. its bringing back what used to be "in" and make it 'in' again. bringing the old things back, for people to see that if times change, if someone keeps old fashion fresh, it'll never grow old (at least for a long time).
take Taxi for example, andy warhols first love. she made the mini skirt because she wanted to prove that she could live on her own without her family looking down on her. she could only afforn cheap clothes, and since she was so small, she would shop in the kids department. the mini skirt was made.
fashionistas take everything into consideration, well, most i guess. and you dont have to wear the parachute pants, or the glitter stockings, you don't have to afford it, but another crowd can, and another crowd may love it. because fashion isnt just for the closet, it can be a gallery of art.

Get the fashion mug.Something so twisted and odd that it has to change every year. Some things are deemed 'in style', and the populous instinctly follows like a mindless herd, no matter how bizzare or uncomfortable it may be. It's as if they have no sense of individuality anymore.
I see people in schools in my town, even children at the age of 8 are getting into this, wearing heels and shutter-shades, their daily attire seems like a costume, and here I am, a fellow female, in baggy jeans, sneakers and a hoodie. Their clothing seems so uncomfortable. Tight jeans and heels, or just leotards and a tee shirt. And it gets worse each year. Is this what our modern culture is coming to? And who exactly says that this stuff is in? Is there a department of "In" somwhere in the world? The Bureau of In, located in INdianapolis, INdiana? (No offense to you lot.)
I've ranted long enough.
Summed up, 80's fashion is back in buisness (shudder).
And guys clothing? Barely changing.
