Used commonly on the coast of Maine as far back as the mid-1980s

NOT, and I repeat NOT the same thing as a gay man who hasn't left the closet yet.

Closet pervert is a term generally used to describe creepy men who seem as though they're hiding a nasty (very nasty) fetish from the world.

A saying popular among adults, which means if you do not open your mouth you will not get what it is you want.

Jane was too quiet at the birthday party, and when everyone got their food, she was last to get hers.

Mother came to Jane and said 'Why aren't you eating?'

Jane responded 'I do want to eat...'
