A term used by people who have spent too long in the sun without suncream, aka. an extreme case of sunburn.

up tan

The tanning of the underside of the nose, as usually achieved through artificial means such as a spray from a tanning salon. An up tan implies that one would have to be upside down in the sun in order to tan that part of the body, and is therefore a giveaway that the tan is artificial.

She must have gone to a salon, check out her up tan.
