cinnamon

a word used to describe a basic guy who tries to keep up with the latest trends. Lots of millennial guys who consider themselves "hip" are really just cinnamon. He likes to hang out with people younger than him and likes to pretend like he is still in his twenties.

He probably has a carefully trimmed beard, acts like he knows about specialty coffee, and wears basic white sneakers.

If something is mainstream, you can bet that cinnamon guys will be all over it. They may think they are different or unique, but they are just like everyone else who is trying too hard to be cool/different.

"Jonathan is so cinnamon!"

"I know, did you see those shoes he was wearing?"
"Yeah. He is trying WAY too hard."
