Mother hears person singing: Oh man, she's procrastinating again...

To not do something you should've done before,

commonly used when talking about homework and projects in school,
but can be used with other things too.

Person 1: Have you finished that project for Spanish class yet?

Person 2: No, I should've finished watching it yesterday but procrastination has taken ahold of me.

the act of putting effort into finding other things to do, rather than doing what it is you should acctually be doing.

Mitch: I really didn't want to do my homework, but I couldn't find anything else to do, so I went and got my nipple pierced.

Frank: just to get out of doing your homework? you were actively procrastinating!
