Zoom-Ready

When your hair, clothing, jewelry, and make-up are pulled together enough that you can get onto a video call without embarrassing yourself and/or scaring everyone else. This is especially important/ challenging when working alone at home.

Thank goodness I had an hour warning before the meeting to get myself presentable and Zoom-ready. I put in my contacts, fixed hair and make-up, put on my cov-earrings - - but true confession: I was still in my pandemic-pants!

digital zoom

Type of "zoom" found on many digital cameras and camcorders that is completely pointless. All it does is crop your image, resulting in degradation of quality, and can easily be done with any image editing software. Optical zoom is the only zoom that matters since it does not degrade image quality. Camera manufacturers love to advertise their cameras' digital zoom capabilities in really big font, while the optical zoom capabilities are printed really small or not at all. Uneducated consumers will only look at the digital zoom and probably buy the camera based on that.

Person #1: Look, my new digital camera has an 800x digital zoom!
Person #2: You're a moron.

Zoomaphobic

Having or showing a hatred of zoomers (if you're stuck in 1864 and don't know what a zoomer is, a zoomer is basically someone born any time after 2006). zoomaphobes tend to be old people that think that facebook is still the new social media app that everyone uses; boomers.

"Ugh, I hate my grandpa, he's such a zoomaphobe." I complained "Yeah" my sister whispered, "he's so zoomaphobic."

Ok Zoomer

A phrase that Zoomers believe is made by boomers but is actually used by Millenials who are tired of the garbage tier memes that Gen Z produces. It is also used to generally mock the "Ok Boomer" meme, as well as mocking the low attention spans of Gen Z, which can associate them with the word 'Zoomer.'

Millenial: oK zOoMeR
Zoomer: Wow, Boomers are stupid
Boomer: *Not listening to conversation anymore*
