finance lease

A finance lease is where a loaned asset is (in most cases) pimped to one party for the useful lifetime of it.

In the accounts of business, it is recorded much the same as a hire-purcase agreement. It is reocrded in the balance sheet (as at <date>) as the cost of the fixed asset (excluding interest) less the provision for dep'n. It is also recorded in the trading profit and loss account (for year ended <date>) as interest due for the year and the dep'n.

The balance sheet also record finance leasing as a liability for future payments (excluding intrest), see accruals, shared betwixt current liabilities and long-term liabilities.

We have secured a finance lease.

A financial contract whereby property is transferred (usually in the real estate and aviation industries) and then leased back to its original holder.

Quarter-Lease

This is a term used in a lease contract for the rental of a horse. The quarter lease, as opposed to the half or full lease, allows the leasee to ride the said horse two times per week. The cost ranges from around $100-$350 per month depending on where you live and how talented the horse is.

I was planning to quarter-lease the horse because I don't have time to ride him more than twice a week.

Skull Lease

A lengthy prison term -- usually reserved for life-sentences -- that indicates the prisoner's future housing agreement. Referenced in the infamous Frank Ocean song "White Ferrari", off of the Blonde album: "You dream of walls that hold us in prison, it's just a skull lease, that's what they call it."

Them Alphabet Boys snagged Rodney for life, boy had to sign a skull lease.
