It is said in colloquial circles that it might have come from combining sedate with gracious and radiant. It is meant to be used to describe serene beauty in art, music and the written word, as well as appearing on the visages of certain humans and animals.

A manly man name in Turkish. Sedats are generally known for their generosity and clever/witty yet very very down-to-earth comments in almost everything, loves to support any and everything with evidences.
