Straight up Jew

To be completely embracing Judiasm, and consider oneself as a practicing Jew. Must have strong lineage, too.

A 'Straight up Jew' must be completely practicing, and not jew-ish.

A Straight up Jew would do the following:
1)Celebrate Haunnakah, with the candles
2)Study the Torah
3)Not celebrate Christmas
4)Have a jewish mother
5)Know how to prounounce those tricky "hhhlaahck" sounds
6)Go to temple every week.

Hannah: Mr Goldblatt, are you a Straight up Jew, or are you Jew-ish?
Mr Goldblatt: I am Straight up Jew, ach!

When someone is just feeling the music, allowing themselves to immerse themselves- your heartbeat syncing with the beat. Dancing, having a good time, acting the maggot , just vibin .

Person 1: *dancing with reckless abandon to an absolute bop*
Person 2: "What're they doing?"
Person 3: "They're just straight vibin, dude!"

Person 1: *bopping their head to music in the back seat*
Person 2: "You okay?"
Person 3: "I'm just straight vibin!"

a lifetime commitment never to drink, smoke, or do drugs. some people include abstainence from promiscuous sex. others abstain from caffeine. started in the hardcore/punk scene of the early 1980's in Washington DC.
