social bedtime

“Social Bedtime” when you tell everyone that you’re going to sleep for the evening therefore you’ve finished interacting by text, phone, and social media for that particular day. If, by chance, they happen to see you “online” after you’ve announced your social bedtime it would be improper etiquette for them to then comment or contact via those various social media outlets.
It’s been a long day and as it’s my social bedtime I’ll catch up with you later!

Social Capital

Social capital is the goodwill generated by people's ability to work together for common purposes. It has the potential to be a catalyst for action, empowerment and inspiration. It can influence peoples' capacity to thrive, and is a powerful factor in determining career and life success. Social capital cannot be held by an individual, as its very existence is stimulated by human interaction.

The effects of social capital flow from the information, influence, and solidarity that such goodwill generates.

It can also be used to describe the personal relationships within a company, that help build a culture of trust and respect among employees, leading to enhanced company performance and wellbeing.
Jenny didn't say, "I'll do this for you because you are more powerful than me". Nor did she say "I'll do x for you now, if you do y for me now".
Jenny built her social capital by saying, "I'll do this for you now, knowing that somewhere down the road, you will do something for me"

Social contagion

Everything is a social contagion to you people, Jesus Christ!
Hym "Not everything a social contagion! Holy shit what is WRONG with you people!? This is NOTHING MORE than 'the failure of the people who could have done otherwise.' That's it. HIDING THEIR SHAME. Trying to sweep this under the rug. It isn't a social contagion. It isn't a syndrome. It's YOU refusing acknowledge what is happening to ME and those people."

socialislamist

A person who claims to believe in liberalism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-racism and anti-fascism, while simultaneously supporting oppressive, misogynistic, homophobic, violent, racist, fascist ideologies. Also known as a brainwashed hypocrite.
Kayleigh took one political science class at (insert almost any university here) and changed from a normal, healthy young woman with a bright future into a clinically depressed, government-dependent, blue haired obese socialislamist.

Now instead of having fun at college parties with her normal girlfriends and dudes named Red, Josh, Brett and Freak she invents things to be mad at, is a perpetual victim, and wastes her college experience protesting anything anti-American. Also see A.W.F.L.

Social anxiety

The mental equivalent of HIV, only because it leads to chronic loneliness, which is the mental equivalent of AIDS.
Around 12.1% of Americans have social anxiety. It might sound like a lot, or too little, but it implies 12 in 100 people have social anxiety, whilst the 88 can enjoy going on dates, losing their virginity and experiencing feelings of social highness.

Social Commandeering

(Civilian) Social Commandeering (AKA Social Hijacking)

A phenomenon where individuals, under the guise of social righteousness, attempt to seize control of someone's work, career, or reputation. These groups believe their moral or social agendas should take precedence and use social pressure to enforce this belief. On the internet, they often target artists, podcasters, or other creators, demanding that they endorse specific agendas or censor certain content. This practice forces creators to speak with a voice other than their own, undermining their original goals and leading to severe repercussions, such as public shaming or career damage, if resisted. This can be seen as a form of reverse 'Virtue Signaling,' where the pressure to conform is imposed externally rather than expressed personally.
"After releasing a new virtual art exhibition, the host faced Social Commandeering when a vocal group demanded the removal of an artist they found controversial." "Wow, even here people are so risk averse!"
