Visibility Filtering

Visibility Filtering, or VF, is a doublespeak term for shadow banning. It is the act of reducing the amount of views a post gets on social media by the company that owns the platform. Examples are: blocking searches of individual users; limiting the scope of a particular tweet’s discoverability; blocking select users’ posts from ever appearing on the “trending” page; and from being included in hashtag searches.

“Think about visibility filtering as being a way for us to suppress what people see to different levels. It’s a very powerful tool,” one senior Twitter employee told us.

"Bobby is totally unrecognizable and a little bit nuts. IRL he looks like a high-school janitor but on Facebook he's a supermodel! Bob is definitely a Filter Loon." Charles logged off and went for a walk.

777 filters

This relates to a social media app known as "Tiktok. These 777 filters are known for having inappropriate images in them. They are a "choose your favorite" filter which you would tilt your head to the direction of your favorite character/variation of your character. At first it'll be normal with completely fine images and then once you choose it would usually display an image of that character naked or just some other type of inappropriate image. Some of the most popular 777 filters were; Chun li, Princess peach, and Hello Kitty. Most of these filters are gone now.

Person 1: Hey have you seen those 777 filters?
Person 2: Yeah it's crazy how they are not taken down yet!

A pejorative term typically used by 4chan users on the Video Games board to indicate the subject has been victim of a casual filter. It is typically used facetiously to call someone bad at a game as an insult. Can be used in other contexts, e.g. calling oneself bad at the game.
