Is a joke. You start with high hopes for a change from middle school and excitement in your freshmen year, but no. It's gonna be the same. Oh, and it gets worse as you progress into senior year.
You go around looking for friendships, failing to realize you're not gonna see them again after four years. You stress over rigorous curriculum such as AP classes, get yourself involved in school activities... all just to impress colleges (so you're not really passionate about what you're doing). It's less likely you'd take academics seriously in high school since you're overridden by the perpetual stress and negativity around and at you. And you run into these so called "friends" trying to be BFFs with you without foreseeing one day they'd get tired of you and move on, leaving a hole in your heart that never heals up if you've develop feelings for them. At that point, you're gonna think about turning everyone away from you or limit your socialization thinking it'll avoid that problem when it'll only make you feel worse that you're alone.
Mistakes are NOT okay in high school. If someone (teachers/classmate) hates you from the beginning, they're gonna hate you until the end.
Oh, and don't think about revisiting your old high school either. It's a waste of gas, money, and time to get rudely chewed up by the staff kicking the alumni out.

apparnetly on this sight, people like to bitch about how high school sucks...didnt any one tell u this or did u figure it out after your 4 years? I realized it about 2-3 days into my freshmen year and i find that the only classes that really prepare anyone for life are the buisness classes and the tech classes...see in NY, we have one of the greatest testing systems in the country, but we have a 20-30% passing rate on math becuz we take a year and a half of math and try and cram it into 3 hours, which is complete bullshit...anyway, high school teachers arent that bad...where im from, we have maybe 5-10% of teachers that are complete cynical assholes who have either been castrated or been tragic burn victims...i read about someone saying history was useless...besides tech and business, without history, you would repeat the mistakes of the past...so here's a suggestion to the cynical realists/ex high school students/bitching liberals/suburban teenager that thinks high school is hard...shut the fuck up and deal with it, jesus christ do you need some vagasil for your pussy? are you that retentive and stupid that the only thing you can do is bitch? high school is free, college is a bitch when it comes to costs...thats why im moving to europe...GO EUROPE!!!

The best time of your life. Stop bitching about how much it sucks, because you have no idea how good you have it now. Wait until you graduate and you will truly miss that you dont see your teachers and friends everyday. Right now, you may think it is so tough, but its not. Honestly, I don´t understand all that bitterness displayed here about high school.
Sure,that period has its flaws,but most of you seem to forget all the good things going aside with it...Not having to worry about anything,having lots of friends, competing against other schools in sports (e.g.sailing and rowing are extremely popular at our school),regular social events, holding up school spirit, and finally (if you are willing to invest some work) the preparation it gives you for going to a excellent college/university later.
