When you Crash Out (lose your shit) but the situation is so messed up you’re justified.

Person A: Did you hear Jessie punched Sam in the Jaw, shot her, and then stomped on her face?

Person B: Didn’t Sam suggest jessie make amends with her ex after he cheated on her with SAM??!

Person A: Yeah i think so.

Person B: Eh, reasonable crash out, i would’ve done the same.

Reasonable Crashout

To add some context, a “Crashout” is used to describe what happens when someone gets so mad they lose their composure. In turn, a “Reasonable Crashout” is when someone loses their composure but for a justifiable reason. The term “Reasonable Crashout” works to further describe the situation as not all Crashouts are considered viable and normally but the perpetrator of the Crashout in a negative light,however, a “Reasonable Crashout” automatically shows that the people who aought to be blamed are the people who caused the person to Crashout and not the person Crashing out themselves.

NOTE: Reasonable Crashout is also sometimes called a Necessary Crashout

A. “ My neighbor beat up the local pool boy for sleeping with the his wife, so it was a Reasonable Crashout.”

B. “My teacher gave me an F- for putting my name in the wrong corner, time for my Reasonable/Necessary Crashout!”

Similar to a logicpost, but focused on dictating the specific mode of reasoning that is acceptable (e.g., purely utilitarian cost-benefit analysis, strict biological reductionism). It frames this mode as “reason itself,” branding other forms of reasoning (deontological, emotional, intuitive) as “unreasonable.”

Reasonpost Example: In an ethics debate, someone states, “The only reasonable way to judge this is through a utilitarian calculus of net happiness. Any appeal to ‘rights’ or ‘dignity’ is an emotional appeal, not reason.” They’ve set a reasonpost, excluding entire ethical traditions from the domain of valid discourse.
