Emotional Policing

When someone seems intent on telling you to stop feeling a specific emotion. Usually negativity because you're "bringing everyone's mood down" or something similar. Even when you hide your emotions in public and say one offhand comment about how you really feel,there will most likely be someone there to enact Emotional Policing. You're expected to change yourself despite how you truly feel,despite how many facts you have to back up your emotions (which you shouldn't need because that notion seeks to invalidate emotional response). Emotional Policing is everywhere.

Example one:
Todd: "Yeah,Project 2025 is going to hurt a lot of marginalized people and minorities. I'm worried my friends will die."
Bill: "Oh my god,stop being such a fucking doomer Todd! Just relax,everything will be okay."
Todd: "Oh yeah,I should totally 'just relax' when the people I know are going to be hurt or killed. Fuck you and your Emotional Policing,Bill."

Example two:
Jerry: *Expresses even one negative emotion.*
Tom: "SHUT UP YOU DOOMER PESSIMIST NEGATIVE NANCY DOOMER DOOMER DOOMER! BE HAPPY GODDAMNIT DON'T DRAG DOWN THE MOOD OF EVERYONE AROUND YOU STOP IT"
Jerry: "Fuckin' Emotional Policing.."

I have seen video of them reading this allowed. They know what is happening here and THEY LOVE IT. Because they know what it means for YOU. It means that you can be boxed out of having your rights recognized in a subtle manner into a form of abstract slave trade. The door to my prison is attached to a timer and THE LONGER THAT DOOR STAYS CLOSED... The more doors close behind it. And then door opens ONLY AT THE DISCRETION of corrupt, likely mentally retarded people with a tenuous relationship with truth and they will hold this over your for the rest of your days. THAT DOOR, however, does not keep your kids out of arms reach. Like the little black girl running away from and ignoring her mother to chase the dog that was barking at me as I was walking down the sidewalk with a knife in my pocket... Your kids will have to walk past the bars every day. And IF THE DOOR DOESN'T OPEN... It will be because and ONLY BECAUSE... MINE. REMAINED. CLOSED. And the longer that takes the more people are going to choose to sharpen a shiv and grab someone you care about. And that isn't on me...

They are going to see the YOU cannot be convinced. YOU cannot be reasoned with. And the YOU do not care about their lives. Because 'My KiDs ArEn'T rEtArDeD sHiT!!' And they are going to do what I did... They are going to stop caring about YOUR lives and JUST LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO DO TO ME... They are going to take YOUR lives. They are trying to convince you that there is more than one to skin a cat BUT... The ONLY way to skin a cat... Is to remove the skin... Off of the cat."

Instant Gratification Policing can happen when police say: "Turn around!" or "Put your hands behind your back!" or "Get on your knees!"

Garbage-barge Politician

The act of waking up each day, gathering armloads of random information, disregarding all context surrounding the gathered muck, grabbing one's Huck Finn stick, hopping onto a floating device on which the garbage has been piled, pushing off out into the lake, picking up each item, and screaming about it. Meanwhile, the people on the banks only really hear the seagulls.

Bystander 1: "Uh-oh, Garbage Barge Greene's on the float again. I wonder what random act of ignorance she's going to shout about today."

Bystander 2: "It's the nature of a garbage-barge politician, Garbage gonna barge."

Also can apply to the act of politicking, as in "Garbage Barge Politics"
