Retrosexual

A male who is the epitome of polar opposite of a metrosexual. One who embraces, trucks, flannel, thinks Eddie Bauer is Haute Cotour, member of the NRA, thinks Bush is SMRT, and believes Capitalism is the American Way. Doesnt know his way around a kitchen other than to find a refridgerator, and a microwave. The slogan "If you cant NUKE it, its not worth eating" is the mantra of the day.Dont forget a can opener to eat his Chef Boyardee Ravioli out of the can. MIGHT remember to bring his wife flowers on their anniversary or her birthday. Probably had 1- 2 kids, wife stays at home, she cooks, he fixes the house. A testosterone filled male void of human emotion, except when they try to pry the gun from his cold, dead, hands. Choice of music is 80's hair bands, and classic 80's pop music, as long as it's not too prissy.

I consider my office mate a retrosexual!

Metrosexual

A term used by marketing to 'butch up' the connotations of the word 'gay' from the often assumed 'fruity' to garner a broader and more 'macho' market for cosmetics including straight men. It also helps the border liners to ease out of the closet.

Glen: "Have you seen Ron lately?" "He's doing 'guy-lites',lipstick and nail polish." "He's calling himself 'Metrosexual'- but totally straight."

Ted: "I hear yah man, all the straight guys I know are just crying to be re-defined."

1. usu. refers to a guy's appearance. he looks gay, but is "totallly straight"
2. a fashion-concious straight male.
3. and in some cases, a "straight" male... aka he's "in the closet"
4. and sometimes, can be "on the fence"; walks on the straight side of the street, but walks closer to the line than the rest...

is he gay? or metrosexual? ...when im lookin at him i cant figure out if i should tell him about my best friend--a fag--or ask him for fashion advice...

a wussy scenester who metaphorically emasculates himself in terms of fashion. Think pink t-shirts, highlights, mullets, coloured charity wristbands (though those seem unfashionable now), very white trainers, distressed jeans and that narcicisstic snow patrol song that whinges on about "if i lay here". Expect the same guys to be very ashamed in a few years' time and readily embrace a pretentious masculine fad that will no doubt erupt in frustration at this current, nauseatingly effiminate trend.

A heterosexual man who is very much in touch with his feminine side, and is not afraid to show it. He appreciates Gucci bags, Prada wallets, etc.

I'd say that Justin Timberlake is homosexual, but I guess he's just metro.
