Prediction Market

A marketplace where people trade shares in the outcome of future events — basically, a stock market for opinions. Prices move based on what traders believe will happen, from “Will it rain tomorrow?” to “Will Minnesota finally win a championship?”

It’s where degens, data nerds, and wannabe Nostradamuses collide — except now, it’s not just politics and crypto. Platforms like Kalshi, BettorEdge, and Polymarket are bringing prediction markets to sports, letting fans actually buy and sell belief instead of betting against the house.
“Bro, I just made $50 predicting the Patriots wouldn’t blow a fourth-quarter lead on prediction markets.

Guess I’m officially a market analyst now.”

Textbook Preaching

Textbook preaching occurs when a teacher (usually a supply/cover teacher who is relatively inexperienced) teaches pupils by relying solely on the contents of whichever textbook relates to her current lesson (e.g. a teacher covering in Chemistry reading verbatim from a chemistry textbook)
More often than not, this method does absolutely nothing to help students learn, other than reinforcing already-negative attitudes about supply teachers and forcing pupils to seek out their own means of learning.
The only exceptions include teachers assigning tasks from the textbook or simply asking students to read extracts.
Pupil 1: Can you believe that? The supply teacher isn't even bothering, is she?

Pupil 2: How so?

Pupil 1: She's reading the contents of the textbook word-for-word! Classic case of textbook preaching.

Pupil 2: True that.

seidel prediction

A meta prediction about the progression of a story. At any point in a story, a seidel prediction can be created by making several predictions, how the story will progress, with the goal of one of them being close to the actual progression of the story. The goal of a seidel prediction is to be able to declare that one already knew how the story will go on, that it was predictable and basically boring.
A: See? I knew It! Exactly as i said it would end. The sotry was so predictable.
B: Dude, the 9 other endings you predicted did happen, what about that? That totally was a seidel prediction.
